Jessica Carr

After receiving my undergraduate and graduate degrees from large state universities, I am now a visiting assistant professor at a liberal arts school. Religious Studies is my home department, though methodological and theoretical connections with history, anthropology, gender studies, and art and communications motivate both my teaching and my research. My first project is on Jewish-American visual culture, in specific how imagining Palestine-Israel has been a ritual practice that plays a central role in the construction of American identity and community.
